Littlewoods Poker | All Star Poker Challenge

Littlewoods Poker | All Star Poker Challenge

Littlewoods Poker, somewhere I haven't played in for a while has started to sponsor the All Star Poker Challenge on ITV.

Running over 7 programmes this is a great way for UK Poker players (that don't have access to SKY) to see what goes on in a real poker game.

UK poker players are often unsure of how a real game runs and this is a excellent introduction that will assist in learning the game.

The All Star Poker Challenge sponsored by Littlewoods Poker started last night and the overall winner gets £25000 for their UK charity.

Click Littlewoods Poker to check out the site now.

Poker Room

Poker Room is one of the world's most popular poker rooms online and boasts a massive 3,000,000 registered players.

There are a huge range of Texas Hold'em Tournaments available and satellite tournaments are available via Poker Room for all the major competitions. If you have a Mac, you're in luck as Poker Room can also be played on Apple Macs as well as PCs.

This is one of the only real poker rooms that also allow you to play some Blackjack and a few casino games. A nice touch.

At the moment, I've only played for free but if anyone has played in Poker Room for real money, post a comment and let us know how you got on and what you though of the site.

POKER 333 - Online Poker Room

POKER 333

Managed to get a quick, and I mean quick, game of poker last night, the first in what seems like ages.

I played at the Prima Poker Network site, Poker333, one of the better Prima rooms.

Due to kids making too much noise I quit after three quarters of an hour on a $2/$4 Texas Hold Em table, $26 up. Not a lot but it was nice to get a game of poker again. Hopefully the next poker game will come quicker.

News Article--Harrah's 2005 World Series of Poker

News Article--Harrah's 2005 World Series of Poker

Well in the end a total of 5619 players qualified for Event # 42, the No-Limit Texas Hold Em tournament that everyone wants to win.

With a $10,000 buy-in, the winner, Joseph Hachem from Australia won a rather nice 7,500,000! Pity it wasn't one of the UK poker players but never mind.

Poor Pokerstars couldn't make in three in a row but they can't complain really, they've had loads of free advertising by supplying the last 2 winners.

UK Poker Tour

Well my online UK Poker tour hasn't been going to plan lately. I've been so busy that I haven't had the chance to play any poker at all. Not a happy person but things will change soon...hopefully.

Keep watching!

World Series of Poker 2005

The 36th World Series of Poker began on June 2 in Las Vegas.

45 tournament will be played over 7 weeks and the spotlight of the tournament is the World Championship which will attract over 6600 players this year as opposed to the record breaking 2567 players last year.

The main World Series of Poker tournament will be held in Rio All-Suite Hotel in a 200 table specially constructed arena.

Last years winner of the main event, Greg Raymer won a whopping $5 million dollars but this years crowned champion will walk home with a staggering $8 Million. Not bad eh. I sure hope they don't pay the winner in cash - they'll never manage to carry it all home!

A total of $75 million in prize money will be paid out over the World Series of Poker. Last year the amount was $45.9 million. The popularity of poker has accounted for the huge increases seen over the past few years.

I'd love to see another online qualifier. The last two years they've come from Poker Stars. It's great for the online poker industry and even better if it's a UK poker player that wins - that would be topping!
